Brief Introduction
Dongge Ali (scientific name: Eurycoma longifolia Jack.) is a small evergreen tree of the family Aralia and Malayan ginseng. It is 4~6 meters high, up to 18 meters high, with a trunk diameter of 30.5 cm, and light yellow roots; Leaves alternate, odd pinnate compound leaves, about 30-100 cm long, leaflets opposite or nearly opposite, ovate or lanceolate; Panicles terminal or axillary, light purplish red; Drupe about 12 mm long, oval, mature from yellow to reddish brown. The flowering period is from June to July, and the fruit period is from August to September.
Dongge Ali is mainly distributed in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries; Moist acidic sandy soil, mostly found in beach forests, primary or secondary forests below 700 meters above sea level.

Growth environment

Reproductive methods
1. Natural reproduction
Dongge Ali propagates through seeds in the natural environment, and the seed germination rate is low. Moreover, Dongge Ali is a recalcitrant seed with fast decline in seed vitality and long germination time. After germination, the plant grows slowly. It takes 2 to 3 years to produce a small amount of fruit. The mature period is generally more than 5 years, and it takes about 25 years to reach full maturity.
2. Artificial propagation
(1) Seed selection and pre sowing treatment. Soak the seeds with 0.5% potassium permanganate for disinfection for 5 minutes before sowing, and then wash them with clean water. The sterilized and washed seeds shall be soaked in 50 ℃ warm water for 1 day to accelerate germination, and then the seeds shall be taken out to dry in the shade and stored for sowing after water absorption and expansion.
(2) Preparation of seedling tray.The seedling is raised in a tray. The substrate is peat soil and perlite (ratio 1:1). After the substrate is mixed evenly, it is put into 50 hole trays. The tray is 54.9cm long, 7.8cm wide and 7.8cm thick. The thickness of the substrate should be 5-6cm. Before sowing, it should be soaked and sterilized with 0.5% potassium permanganate solution for 10 minutes.
(3) Seeding and budding: The suitable sowing time for Dongge Ali is from February to April. The method is to evenly spot sow the prepared seeds into the seedling tray, and the spot sowing density should be 100-140 seeds/m2. After sowing, spray water with a shower to moisturize, and transplant the seedling tray into a plastic film greenhouse to hasten germination. During the germination period, spray water properly according to the dry and wet conditions of the substrate. The spraying time should be selected in the morning and evening. Keep the substrate wet. After about 35 days, the seeds can sprout in succession. After the seedlings are unearthed, the temperature and humidity management shall be strengthened. On sunny days, a shading net with a shading rate of 70% can be set up at noon for proper shading, and carbendazim shall be sprayed once every 7 days. After 40 days, the emergence rate was more than 40%.
(4) Seedling transplanting: after 120 days of seedling growth, the height of the seedling is more than 7cm, and when 7 leaves are taken out, it can be transplanted into the prepared cultivation bag. The matrix is yellow soil+vegetable garden soil+peat soil+perlite (proportion 2:2:1:0.5), and the size of the matrix is 9 cm after it is mixed evenly × In the 12cm seedling bag, 0.5% potassium permanganate solution shall be sprayed for disinfection before transplantation. When transplanting, it is required to remove unhealthy and diseased seedlings and transplant healthy sprouts. Select cloudy days for transplanting into bags, pay attention not to damage the roots during the transplanting process, and drench the feet with root-setting water after bagging. The sprouts are bagged and nurtured in the nursery.
(5) Management after transplantation: The key point of seedling management is to pay attention to shading, build a shading net with a shading rate of 70%, and properly spray water once every 3-5 days to keep the substrate moist. Spray carbendazim once every 10-15 days, and timely drain the water in the nursery in rainy days. When the bag seedling grows to 10cm, start to apply 1% compound fertilizer solution; when the seedling is 15cm tall, apply 5% compound fertilizer solution; when the seedling is 20cm tall, apply 1g granular compound fertilizer per plant; the fertilization frequency is once a month. After 6 months, the survival rate of bud seedling transplantation was more than 70%.
